Incorporating multiple radiators into a custom cooling loop offers significant advantages. A multi radiator setup not only improves thermal efficiency but also allows for quieter operation since high-speed fan activity is reduced. Also, multiple radiators provide greater flexibility in customizing the cooling loop layout, enabling optimal airflow and accommodating different case configurations.
The CORSAIR 2500 Series cases are designed to handle various custom water cooling configurations in addition to your out of the box Air CPU Cooler and AIO. But how many radiators can you fit inside these cases if you wanted to set up an elaborate custom loop? Let's find out.
The 2500X version of the series has a front glass panel so it loses 3x fan mounts in the front. Never the less, this version fits 360mm, 280mm, and 240mm radiators up top and 240mm on the side. On the bottom, it can fit a 360mm, 280mm, and 240mm and a 120mm radiator in the rear of the case. Impressively, the 2500X can fit 3x radiators simultaneously, but it will be a tight squeeze so quadruple check this.
The 2500D Airflow has almost the same design as the 2500X but can fit 4x radiators simultaneously since this version of the case series does not have a front glass panel but a mesh front panel with fan mounting points. For the 2500D Airflow model, radiator support is as follows. In the front 240mm and 280mm is supported. For the top of the case, 360mm. 280mm, and 240mm. Now for the bottom of the case, 360mm, 280mm, and 240mm are suported with 240mm on the side and 120mm in the rear of the case.
