How to upgrade the 2500D to a front glass panel

The CORSAIR 2500D AIRFLOW is a small form factor PC case with dual chambers and mesh paneling in the front, side, and roof. In this article we are going to show you how to swap the front mesh panel with a clear tempered glass panel which is sold separately. If you want to know more about the case like specs and features before moving forward, you can check out our EXPLORER article where you'll find additional case details.

By design, the 2500D AIRFLOW comes with a front mesh panel which increases airflow inside the case with the assistance of front fans. Now since you like options as do we, a front glass panel is available to you so that you can convert your 2500D AIRFLOW to look like the 2500X which comes with the front glass panel from factory.

One thing to note, is that the 2500D AIRFLOW is the only model in the 2500 Series that allows for front fan installation but once you install the front tempered glass panel, you will not be able to put those front fans on. However, you will have a very tidy-looking PC case. Swings and roundabouts.

Now with all of that in mind, lets go through the steps required in order to change out the 2500D AIRFLOW front mesh panel and install the tempered glass alternatives. As with anything involving tempered glass, do not do this on a tiled or ceramic surface. materials like this can shatter tempered glass with very little effort.

Step 1: Remove side panels

So the first thing you need to do is remove the side tempered glass panel by unscrewing the top and bottom screw on the back side of the case. Use the tab just under the top screw to grab the panel and pull towards you (there's an arrow that shows you the way) and then lift up to remove. Do not try to slide the panel off, instead let it rest on the bottom like a hinge and again pull it away from the case. There are notches at the bottom of the panel that hold it in place and prevent it from falling.

Step 2: Remove mesh panels

Once the side panel is off, you'll need to remove the front mesh panel by simply pulling from the top and bottom, away from the case. The mesh panel is snaped in place so it will just snap off as you apply pressure.

Step 3: Remove the front fan bracket

The next step is to remove your front fan bracket and in order to do this, you need to unscrew six screws with a screw driver.

The location of the screws are:

  • Two on the top and bottom located on the right side of the case as shown below in the photos
  • Four screws located at each corner of the fan bracket, accessible from the front.

Step 4: Install the tempered glass panels

So now that you have removed the tempered glass side panel, front mesh panel, and front fan bracket, it's time to install the tempered glass front panel.

To do this, you will need to hinge the tempered glass panel where the front fan bracket was installed. Just hang the panel in place and swing it shut like a door. Once your panel is on there, take side screws and using a screw driver, secure the tempered glass panel to the case.

The last step is easy. Now that you have installed the front tempered glass panel, all you have left to do is to install the tempered glass side panel back on and you're done.

So there you have it. In just a few steps, a front tempered glass panel for your 2500D AIRFLOW is installed.
