PREREQUISITES (NOT INCLUDED)
INITIAL ASSEMBLY OF THE UNIT
1. INSTALL THE MOUNTING BRACKET (B)
Place the XD5 RGB ELITE LCD on the mounting bracket (B) with un-threaded holes facing up. Secure the XD5 RGB ELITE LCD to the bracket using four M3x6mm thumb screws (K) from the bottom.
2. INSTALL THE FAN MOUNTING ADAPTER PLATE (C)
2a. Secure the XD5 RGB ELITE LCD with the installed pump-reservoir mounting bracket onto a 120mm or 140mm fan mounting adapter plate (C) using four M3 thumb screws (K).
2b. The fan adapter brackets can be mounted horizontally or vertically thus allowing free movement in horizontal and vertical axis (depending on orientation).
MOUNTING THE ASSEMBLY
1. MOUNTING THE ASSEMBLY TO A RADIATOR
Secure the XD5 RGB ELITE LCD with the installed pump-reservoir mounting bracket onto a 120mm or 140mm radiator mounting plate using four M3 thumb screws and secure the assembly to the radiator with the short 6mm (0.25") M4xP0.7 screws supplied with the CORSAIR XR radiator itself.
2. MOUNTING THE ASSEMBLY TO A FAN
Secure the XD5 RGB ELITE LCD with the installed pump-reservoir mounting bracket onto a 120mm or 140mm radiator mounting plate using four M3 thumb screws and secure the assembly to a fan using four enclosed self-tapping fan screws (F).
3. MOUNTING THE ASSEMBLY TO A CASE FAN SLOT
Secure the XD5 RGB ELITE LCD with the fan mounting adapter bracket onto a case fan opening. Use enclosed M4x6mm screws (I) along with M4 washers (H) and M4 nuts (G).
4. MOUNTING THE ASSEMBLY TO A CASE SHEET METAL
Locate the suitable cut-out hole pattern in the chassis that would fit 55mm x 27.5mm (for vertical installation) or 55mm x 67mm (for horizontal installation) hole pattern.
MOUNTING ORIENTATION
The XD5 RGB ELITE LCD must be installed vertically with the pump below the reservoir tube.
FINALIZING THE SETUP
iCUE LINK CONNECTION
CONNECTING AND USING THE INTEGRATED SMART FEATURES
Please download the latest version of iCUE from www.corsair.com/downloads.
You must connect the iCUE LINK XD5 RGB ELITE LCD (A) to both the iCUE LINK System Hub (P) and an internal USB 2.0 header (T) on the motherboard in order for the pump and LCD screen to function correctly. The LCD screen is driven by the USB connection, while the pump, RGB lighting, and coolant temperature are driven by the connection to the iCUE LINK System Hub.
3. Connect the iCUE LINK XD5 RGB ELITE LCD USB 2.0 header cable (N) so that the red wire is aligned with the power pin in the USB 2.0 header on the motherboard.
The XD5 RGB ELITE LCD pump/reservoir can be used with other iCUE LINK hardware by placing it anywhere on the channel string using a direct connection, Y cable accessory, or 4-way splitter.
FILLING AND PRIMING
1. PREPARE THE POWER SUPPLY UNIT
2. PREPARE THE XD5 RGB ELITE LCD PUMP/RESERVOIR
Move the manual pump speed override switch on the side of the XD5 RGB ELITE LCD pump/reservoir to position 1. This will allow the pump to run at full power, allowing for easier priming and bleeding of air.
3. FILL AND PRIME THE XD5 RGB ELITE LCD
4. Move the manual override pump speed switch back to position 2 on the pump housing once priming the loop is complete. You will not be able to control pump speed and it will run at priming speed if not set back to its original position.
5. Once the system is filled with coolant, CORSAIR recommends running it for 24 hours to remove any air trapped in the components and to make sure there are no leaks in the system. Once you have thoroughly leak-tested the system, turn OFF the PSU (Figure 1) and disconnect the ATX 24-pin PSU Jumper Bridge (Figure 2). Reconnect the power cables to other computer peripherals and start the computer.
Can I use the XD5 RGB ELITE LCD as a standalone part?
No, this is a water-cooling pump with integrated reservoir which requires a complete custom water-cooling system, including cold plates (water blocks) and radiator. For more information, please visit corsair.com.
Can I use the XD5 RGB ELITE LCD with aluminium water-cooling equipment?
Certain parts are made from copper and brass and should not be mixed with aluminium.
