Over the years, reflecting changes in technology, work culture, and ergonomics have changed the way we use PC's and the requirements for bigger, better, and more functional desk space has moved slowly in that direction. Today, most PC users have multiple screens on their desk for productivity along with keyboard, mouse and other peripherals. In addition, audio and visual gear such as webcams, speakers, microphones, and headsets are now an integral part of a PC setup.
Considering all of this gear, it’s hard not to think about all those cables associated with those products. What do you do with them and do you just let them hang from the back of your desk? If you had a solution to minimize cable clutter, wouldn’t that be ideal?
CORSAIR built this great desk called Platform:6 and among many of the benefits it incorporates, cable management is at the top of its featured list.
The CORSAIR Platform:6 desk has multiple cable management routes all throughout the desk. Let’s review some tips for cable management and take a look at all of your Platform:6 wire management options.
At almost 4 feet wide the cable management tray is huge. It's also made of pegboard material so not only can you tie down your cables throughout the RapidRoute cable management system but you can also use peg hooks to hang what you need or wrap cables around them. The tray will hold your monitor or laptop power supplies and you can purchase the power brick holder, an accessory sold separately that will hold the powerbrick instead of using the tray.
Platform:6 comes with a three port power strip with one type A USB port and one Type C. The power strip can be mounted to the desk or the rail and an additional six port power strip with two Type A USB ports is also included. So, instead of having to run all of your power cables down to a power strip on the ground, you won't have to go that far. Just plug your source at arms reach. Another great benefit of having power strips on the desk is that you can conceal the cables using ties all along the desk, making cable routing practically invisible for a real clean look.
Speaking of tie downs, there are tie downs and guides with snap in pieces that snap into the back of pegboards or can screw into the rails. This allows you to route cables along the back of the desk. Again, simple and clean cable management conviniently located.
We spoke earlier about using peg hooks to assist in cable management. It's true, a peg hook has multiple uses and not just to hang your hat or a bag. A wired controller for example can be stored and cable-managed easily here.
This storage cubby with lid fits inside the desk and can be used to store all kinds of miscellaneous devices such as USB drives or pens, etc. Inside the cubby there is a USB A and C port and you can run the wire management for plugged in devices including keyboard and mouse through rubber grommets built in.
The CORSAIR Platform:6 is a desk designed for everyone and makes space for all your gear through versatility and designed to grow with your needs. It has an advanced cable management design that offers multiple options for routing your cables and connections through out the desk making it convenient for any user to hide and route cables with ease.
