The CORSAIR iCUE LINK Smart Component Ecosystem dramatically reduces the number of cables in your system and simplifies the system building process at the same time. Each iCUE LINK component features a built-in microcontroller that communicates with the main iCUE LINK System Hub to make sure that everything works together with the minimum of fuss.
These built in controllers allow for complex lighting modes and also mean that new monitoring levels are possible, allowing you to optimize for noise and performance like never before.
The iCUE LINK ecosystem encompasses fans, AIO coolers, and custom cooling components, with more devices on the way. Each of these iCUE LINK devices can be connected in a chain of components using only a single cable. The iCUE LINK System Hub has two channels which each supports up to 7 devices for a total of 14 devices. In the above image you can see an example of how a single iCUE LINK System Hub could be maxed out with 14 devices.
And as they’re intelligent devices, the order in which you connect them all together isn't important and each component can still be controlled independently. It's a clever system.
The iCUE LINK cables are reversible, making them even easier to build with—no fiddling with frustrating cable ends here. Plus, there are y-splitter cables to help you get the perfect setup for your system. In fact there are a whole range of cables to chose from, which is great news if you're looking for a particular aesthetic for your next build.
A single iCUE LINK System Hub is more than enough for most normal configurations. In the above picture you can see how a build with exactly 14 devices looks—maxing out the iCUE LINK System Hub.
For this build we have gone slightly overboard, and put in 13 fans, and a 360mm iCUE LINK AIO CPU cooler. That's a total of 14 devices, split evenly across the two channels of the iCUE LINK System Hub.

Normally this would be considered completely overkill, and for most users it is, but it really shows the potential of just a single iCUE LINK System Hub. Even with an enormous case such as the CORSAIR 7000D, you would still be able to fill all fan slots and not need more than a single iCUE LINK System Hub.
Should you require more than 14 devices in a single system, you can easily connect more iCUE LINK System Hubs to your system. As long as you have an available internal USB header you can connect as many iCUE LINK System Hubs as you want. If you don't have enough internal USB headers, you can use an internal USB 2.0 hub, such as the CORSAIR Internal 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub, to get more ports.
In the above system we wanted to max out a CORSAIR 5000D case with fans, as well as include our new line-up of Hydro X Series custom cooling components, which pushed us above the 14-device limit of a single System Hub. This wasn't an issue though, we simply added another iCUE LINK System Hub which gives us a maximum of 28 devices to play with, easily handling our needs.
