CORSAIR 2500 Series Cases: Everything You Need to Know

CORSAIR re-enters the dual chamber case market with the announcement of the 2500 and 6500 Series cases. These are our first dual chamber cases since the Crystal Series 280X and 680X back in 2018. These stylish new offerings are designed to provide top tier performance in a spacious build. The CORSAIR 2500 Series in particular is ideal for small form factor PCs that do it all. Let’s take a look at all the different features and fittings of the 2500.

Variations

The 2500 comes in both black and white with three different variants, the 2500D AIRFLOW is the standard version of the 2500 optimized for performance. The mesh front allows for an additional two fans, providing more cool fresh air.

The 2500X makes the most of the dual chamber design by replacing the mesh front with a clear glass pane, showing off the roomy interior.

The 2500X RGB is the exact same as the 2500X, but comes with two of our new RX120 fans and a LINK system hub to help you get started with your own iCUE LINK ecosystem. The fans are remounted to the side of the case.

Design & Features

The 2500 Series is a dual chamber design, meaning the main compartment that you can see through the glass side panel is dedicated to the main components like the motherboard, CPU, and GPU. Everything else is hidden behind the motherboard tray. This is a departure to the traditional mid-tower design you’ll see in a lot of midsized cases like the CORSAIR 5000 Series cases with the PSU at the bottom covered by a shroud. The result is a more spacious look and better performance.

All variations of the 2500 support three 120mm fans along the filtered top and the bottom, providing impressive airflow. This means that the intake is going to mostly come from the bottom, making it especially important to keep the case off a carpeted floor.

To maximize the clean look of the 2500 Series, the motherboard tray has been designed to support the new ASUS BTF and MSI Project Zero motherboards that feature connections on the rear of the board. In addition to the simplistic look on the front, the connections are also easier to manage in the rear where they’ll interfere less with larger components like radiators and GPUs.

Even without a brand-new motherboard, the 2500s provide a plethora of cable management options. In addition to the abundance of cut outs, the built in cable hooks are designed with iCUE LINK in mind. With simple pop-off front panels, fabric pull tabs for the top panel, and one-twist Quikturn screws, it easier than ever to create your dream system.

If you’re building a real work horse and need a lot of storage, then the 2500 Series can accommodate. With two mounting points for 2.5-inch SSDs and a removeable cage for two 3.5-inch HDDs, the 2500 Series can adapt to your needs. Need more devices? Keep connected with a front panel I/O: two USB Type-A ports, one USB Type-C port, a headphone/microphone combo jack, and of course, power and reset buttons.

Go all out by upgrading your 2500D to a 2500X with a glass conversion kit or change it up entirely by replacing the panels with one of five different materials: Satin Gray, Obsidian, Walnut, Teak, or Bamboo. The kit comes with four panels, two for the front and two for the roof, and can easily be installed with just a Phillips head screwdriver.

2500X SE

The 2500X SE is a specific variant of the 2500 case that comes with your choice of the optional Elite Case panels pre-installed out of the box. This is cheaper than the buying the case in addition to an Elite panel kit, which is particularly handy if you’re keen on the alternative options for the 2500 Case. Plus, it saves you the effort of swapping the panels yourself.

The 2500X SE is available with the most popular of the Elite panel colorways. Two for the Silver case, and 2 for the Black variant.

The CORSAIR 2500 series is a beautiful case designed for modern components with plenty of options for all sorts of builds. Whether you’re looking to customize your look or starting out building your first PC, the 2500 Series is a great option for small form factor lovers.
