Prerequisites

Required - Philips screwdriver. Magnetic Philips head is recommended, such as such with our PC DIY Precision Toolkit. Replacement front I/O assembly (pictured below)

Recommended/optional - Tray to hold screws (the toolkit lid can be used as a tray), gloves for rail handling due to grease, removing glass side panel for ease of access

1) Remove Front Panel & Dust Filter

Simply pull the front panel away from the chassis, and it will easily detach. The dust filter is removable by sliding it to the left.

2) Remove Front & Top Rails

Firstly, you'll want to make sure the rail locking mechanism is in the position pictured below to prevent it from securing the top rail in place.

For the next segment, it's important to avoid grabbing the greased rails as much as possible. Instead, you'll want to handle the rail bracket circled below. Gloves are recommended in case you accidentally handle grease.

Extend the rails to expose and remove a total of eight screws (4 for top, 4 for front). Have a surface ready to lay the rails on, and be mindful of the grease!

Red circles are for the top rail, whilst blue circles are for the front rail.

3) Accessing Front I/O

After removing the rails, you will now remove the internal shroud. Remove the four circled screws, then remove the shroud. If the shroud is stubborn, shift it to the right to assist with the removal.

Next, we'll be removing the external shroud below the front I/O. Remove the two screws circled in red. Then, leverage the external shroud with one hand whilst using your other hand to carefully pull on the tabs circled in blue. The front I/O should now be accessible.

4) Removing & Replacing Front I/O

Before undoing the screws to remove the front I/O, you'll need to disconnect the RGB connector coming from it.

Remove the two screws on the sides of the front I/O assembly. No need to remove the two middle screws.

Next, you'll need to remove the top trim to reuse for your new front I/O assembly. You'll need to undo the tape, then use a flathead to carefully pry away the tabs circled in red. When the tabs have enough clearance, you'll pull the trim away from the area circled in blue.

And there you have it - you may now fully remove the front I/O and replace it with your new one. Follow the steps in reverse for proper re-installation of everything. If you encounter any issues, please don't hesitate to contact our support - we'd be happy to assist.
