As this is a large cooler, you will need to account for clearance to memory modules on your motherboard as well as take your case measurements into account. To learn more about memory clearance, we have prepared an article for you about what RAM heights are compatible with the A115 CPU Air Cooler.

WHICH CPU SOCKETS ARE SUPPORTED?

The CORSAIR A115 CPU Air Cooler is compatible with the following Intel CPU sockets:

  • LGA 1700
  • LGA 1200
  • LGA 1156
  • LGA 1155
  • LGA 1151
  • LGA 1150

The CORSAIR A115 CPU Air Cooler is compatible with the following AMD CPU sockets:

  • AM5
  • AM4

WHICH CPUS ARE COMPATIBLE?

Simply put, all current generation as well as most past generation Intel and AMD CPUs are supported by the A115 CPU Air Cooler.

It doesn't matter if you are using the latest Intel Core i9 14900K or AMD Ryzen 9 7950X. It currently does not matter which iteration of the CPU you are using, as long as the socket is supported. This includes the popular “3D” variants of the AMD CPUs, such as the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D.

WHAT IS TDP (THERMAL DESIGN POWER) AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

When discussing cooling capacity, the processor’s TDP (Thermal Design Power) is an important specification to look for when selecting the right cooler for your system. Once you have determined the TPD of the CPU model you have chosen for your system build, you need to know what the CPU Cooler can handle without breaking a sweat.

The A115 CPU Air Cooler can cool CPUs with an TDP of up to 270W. While we are not recommending pushing the cooler to its limits, as this will require powerful and then audible cooling via fans, you can rest assured that the cooler will be able to cool all AMD AM5 / AM4 and Intel LGA 1700 / LGA 1200 / LGA 115X CPUs comfortably.

Your goal is to have the CPU maintain those speedy frequencies it can offer for the longest time without throttling. The longer it can run at high frequencies the longer you can tap into its full potential and enjoy the maximum performance it offers.

So, if you're after an effective, quiet, and sleek-looking air cooler, the CORSAIR A115 is an excellent choice. Take a closer look over at our main website.
