iCUE LINK LX-R RGB fans: Everything you need to know

CORSAIR iCUE LINK LX-R RGB high airflow fans are our first fans with a reversed fan blade design to ensure that the RGB lighting is fully visible when the fan is being used to move air into the case. iCUE LINK LX-R RGB fans utilize a Magnetic Dome bearing for quiet operation and superior durability, and are connected by a single iCUE LINK connector to make installation a breeze. They come with immersive RGB lighting in the form of Dual Light Loops, making them look their best from any angle.

Reversed fan blades for flawless looks

In the video above, you can see how a normal LX RGB fan moves air, and then how the LX-R RGB fan moves air.

The reversed fan blades change the direction of air flow through the fan. This way, you won't lose the great look of the RGB lighting, which is at its best when viewed from the front of the fans when used as intake fans on the motherboard side and bottom of the case, such as the CORSAIR 6500X, 3500X, 4000D, or 5000D. When in your system air is drawn in from the rear, these fans also ensure that the RGB effect is always seen from it's best side.

Each LX-R RGB fan has a whopping 18 LEDs spread across an inner and outer loop. Each LED can be controlled individually, in zones, and even synchronized with all your iCUE compatible RGB devices, such as coolers or keyboards, mice and headsets, with the help of our CORSAIR iCUE Software.

LX-R RGB fans even have another trick up their sleeves, and that is our Time Warp Lighting Mode. By enabling this mode in iCUE, your fans will look like they are frozen in place or even appear spinning backwards. This is done with the help of an MCU (Microcontroller Unit) in each fan.

Mounting fans has never been easier

Nobody likes a fan that screams. That is why LX-R RGB fans are equipped with a Magnetic Dome Bearing, which minimizes friction and therefore fan noise. The 120mm and 140mm versions can go from no noise at all to 37.7dB(A) and 38.3dB(A), respectively. They even have the ability to not spin at all, thanks to the Zero RPM Mode. At 20%, these fans are whisper quiet at only 10dB(A). For everyday, or more accurately, any cooling task, these fans not only look great, they perform great.

The iCUE LINK Ecosystem has many options waiting for you. Add an AIO CPU cooling solution like the iCUE LINK TITAN 360 RX RGB AIO Liquid CPU Cooler to the mix and cool your latest AM5 or Intel 1851/1700 CPU with ease. Of course, LX-R RGB fans are not the best option for every mounting space in your case. Therefore, you have to choose iCUE LINK LX120 RGB 120mm PWM Single Fan Expansion fans where a reverse fan does not make sense. These locations would be e.g. exhaust fans at the top or back of the case or intake fans at the front.

If you want to switch things up and install some thicker fans for even higher static pressure, you can of course add the iCUE LINK RX120 MAX RGB 120mm PWM Thick Fan Expansion to the mix. Remember, one ICUE LINK system hub can connect up to 24 devices!
