Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II System Requirements and Recommended Specs

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II is the newest addition to the ever-popular Warhammer franchise. Originally a tabletop turn-based wargame, it’s popularity over the last three decades has unsurprisingly made it a prime candidate for videogame adaption.

It should be noted though, that these games are not all digitized versions of that same dice-rolling, turn-taking, tabletop game. No, some of these are fun. (We're joking, don't worry.)

This includes the subject of this page. So, let’s take a look at the Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II System requirements to see if your PC is capable of supporting the Indomitus Crusade.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II Recommended System Requirements

Must have a 64-bit CPU and Operating System

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit or newer
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X / Intel Core i7-12700
  • Memory: 16GB RAM
  • GPU: 8GB VRAM recommended. AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT / Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 75GB. SSD required

It should be noted here that the Steam store page states that these settings will net you 60 FPS at a 1920x1080 resolution using the “Ultra” preset. Given the less than precise nature of game optimisation, we recommend that you should not hedge your bets with this statement.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II Minimum System Requirements

Must have a 64-bit CPU and Operating System

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit or newer
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X / Intel Core i5-8600K
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • GPU: 6GB VRAM recommended. AMD Radeon RX 580 / Nvidia GeForce RTX 1060
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 75GB. SSD required

Again, there is a notation on the store page here that reads “30 FPS in 1920x1080 with "Low" preset.” Do not take this as a guarantee, though.

Can I run Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II?

The minimum requirements are humble, which is nice to see. The recommended requirements, however, are spicier than usual. Not even the open-world Star Wars Outlaws recommended such modern hardware.

Given that both sets of specs insist on an SSD, now’s as good a time as ever to make that upgrade. The MP600 ELITE is our best value proposition right now, and the MP700 PRO SE is the new hotness, which is handy for those looking to avoid upgrading for the longest possible period.

If you’ve decided to upgrade to one of the newer CPUs to ensure you can exterminate Tyranids without experiencing any drop in performance, keeping it cool with the TITAN RX AIOs or even a custom loop is strongly recommended. A swift gaming mouse like the M75 WIRELESS and mechanical keyboard such as the K65 PLUS will also help in that regard

What kind of game is Warhammer 40k: Space Marine II?

A large number of people still see Warhammer, and Warhammer 40K as entirely turn-based franchises like XCOM or Civilisation. This is not the case for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II, though.

This game is a third person shooter. Strongly reminiscent of the Gears of War games. You shoot, slash, stab, or otherwise maim your way past droves of enemies, both alien and humanoid. Special executions can repair armor, and good old-fashioned medkits can replenish health. You can also be revived within a certain window after “dying” if your compatriots move their ass quickly enough.

If you cut your teeth playing Gears of War back in the day, or have recently been enjoying some democratically-backed insecticide in Helldivers 2, you’ll likely enjoy this game.

Courage and Honor, Space Marine.
