How to: Read the CORSAIR memory part number

CORSAIR memory part numbers are meant to be understood at a glance. Use this article to see what the information in the part number means.

For this article, we will use the following part number as an example: CMK32GX4M2Z3200C16W. We will break down what each part of the number means below:

• CM: Corsair Memory.
• K: The memory kit line; in this case, it is part of the LPX line.

• 32G: The total capacity of the memory kit and the sum of all modules' capacities; in this case, the total capacity of all memory modules added together is 32GB.
• X4: The DDR generation of the memory kit; in this case, it is DDR4.
• M2: The number of modules in the kit; in this case, combined with the "32G" part of the number, there are 2 memory modules, with each module having a capacity of 16GB.
• Z: The model version, which denotes platform compatibility; for DDR5, the model refers to the PMIC range of the kit.
• 3200: The number of megatransfers per second when the overclock profile is enabled.

• C16: The CAS latency; in this example, the CAS latency is 16.
• W: The color of the heatsink; if no letter is present at the end of the part number, then the heatsink will be black.
