General tips

  • Know the dimensions of your PC case. The size of your PC case will determine what radiators can fit inside and how many radiators you can mount.
  • Pay attention to the radiator length. The radiator length will tell you whether it can fit in your system, what size fan to mount on the radiator, and how many of those fans can fit on the radiator. Fans come in 120mm or 140mm sizes.
  • Use the maximum amount of surface area you can fit in your case. You want the maximum amount of cooling possible, especially if your PC is going to be running a lot of components and generating a lot of heat. For example, if your PC case can fit up to two 240mm radiators, install two radiators to get as much cooling as possible.
  • Consider a thicker radiator if your PC case cannot fit longer radiators. Thicker radiators can give you extra cooling if your system is too small to fit a longer radiator. For example, your PC case cannot fit a 360mm radiator, so an alternative is to use a 240mm radiator with a thickness of 60mm instead.
