How to set up Device Memory Mode (DMM) in iCUE

Device Memory Mode, previously known to many as "Hardware Lighting / Playback" allows RGB, Key Assignments, Cooling Profiles, and more to be set without iCUE having to run in the background.

The new bit is that DMM (Device Memory Mode) can now be activated dynamically in iCUE without having to exit iCUE. The advantage of this is that you will still be able to use all the features of iCUE, and other third-party apps will not be able to take control of the product.

In this guide, we'll show you how to activate and adjust the DMM using a DARKSTAR WIRELESS RGB MMO Gaming Mouse as an example. This function is also possible with other mice and keyboards with internal memory, as well as with our iCUE LINK products and our RGB DRAM modules.

• Click the device icon for the product you want to activate the DMM.
• You will now find all the usual settings on the left, except for the "Hardware Lighting / Playback" buttons.
• To activate DMM, click with the mouse on the slider located under the name of your product.

• Once you have activated DMM, a message will appear stating that other third party apps no longer have control over your CORSAIR iCUE product.

• When the DMM is activated, the functions that your CORSAIR iCUE product supports in this mode will appear.
• In our example, we're using DMM to save the following settings for a DARKSTAR WIRELESS RGB MMO Gaming Mouse:
  • Lighting Effects
  • Key Assignments
  • DPI

• Once you have made all the settings you want, you need to save them on the CORSAIR product in question.
• You will find the save icon under the activation of the DMM.
  • Depending on the CORSAIR iCUE product you are using, you will find a different number of memory profiles, but always at least one.
• Now click on the memory profile icon to save your settings.
