How To: Set up SoundID in iCUE Software

Sound is critical to our in-game perception when gaming, but sound preferences and hearing abilities are unique for each individual, so how can you cater to everyone? The answer is Sonarworks’ SoundID Technology.

Sonarworks SoundID Technology personalizes your headset’s sound to match your audio taste. SoundID is data-driven sound personalization software. It’s the same technology used by professional game developers around the world.

In just a few simple steps, SoundiD will tailor the sound of your CORSAIR gaming headset that supports SoundID to your individual preferences and hearing abilities. In this guide, we will be using the CORSAIR HS65 WIRELESS Gaming Headset.

The following CORSAIR gaming headsets are compatible with SoundID.

- HS65 Surround

- HS65 WIRELESS

Download the latest version of CORSAIR iCUE software here.

Please note that previous versions of iCUE do not support SoundID.

Open iCUE software and click on the H65 WIRELESS product icon. Make sure that HS65 WIRELESS has the latest firmware update by clicking “Device Settings” on the left navigation pane.

On the left navigation panel, select SoundID Personalization to get started.

Take the Preference Test. Select Start Test to begin.

Pick a track. You can select from various musical styles. Just click on any of the tracks to sample.
When you’ve made your choice, click “next”.

You’ll start hearing your selected track. On the bottom left corner of the window, select A or B when you hear the version of the track that sounds best to you. Note: the differences can be subtle. If you don’t hear any difference, select “No Difference”. Otherwise, click on the right arrow to continue to the next test.

Continue this process until all the preference tests are complete. When done, a message will let you know that your SoundID profile is ready.

Your SoundID profile is now ready to use. If you’d like, you can take additional preference tests to further refine your audio profile. You can enable or disable your SoundID profile at any time using the buttons at the bottom left corner of the window. Now experiment with your favorite music or games and experience the SoundID difference!
