Is adding another fan to the CORSAIR A115 worth it?

Our A115 Air CPU Cooler has all the bells and whistles that comprise an air cooler and doesn't cut any corners while providing the high-performance cooling capability your CPU deserves. We're talking about a nickel-plated copper coldplate (which has a machined curvature for best thermal imprint on CPU's integrated heat spreader), six 6mm heat pipes that each support 45W TDP (totalling 270W), and two AF140 ELITE fans that provide high, concentrated airflow.

However, the performance capability doesn't quite stop there, as the A115 is also capable of supporting a third fan – though you may be wondering how much impact the third fan would make.

We tested the A115 with a third fan with a Core i9-14900K at a 250W power limit on Cinebench 2024. Our VENGEANCE DDR5 RAM was also used, to show off the performance capabilities of the A115 even when the fans aren't perfectly in line with the fin stack.

And there we have it – with the addition of a third fan, we see improved cooling performance that will bring the CORSAIR A115 closer to the performance of an AIO with a 360mm/420mm radiator. It should be noted however, that if you decide to add a third fan, it must be a 140mm fan, so long as it's 25mm or thinner. The Slide-and-Lock mounts are not compatible with any other size of fan. To keep the look consistent we'd recommend a third CORSAIR AF140, but if you're unconcerned with aesthetics, any 140mm fan will work
