CORSAIR offers a new firmware updated for all owners of the XENEON FLEX 45WQHD240 OLED as well as XENEON 27QHD240 OLED.
This update helps to improve the brightness levels of both monitors by up to 33% in full screen. Additionally, we have also raised the brightness stabilizer brightness levels as well for a better experience, should you choose to enable it through the monitor’s settings. Therefore, we encourage our customers who purchased these monitors to update the monitor firmware for an even better experience while viewing content, gaming, or using it for productivity tasks.
Once you have applied the firmware update, we have put together an interesting article on how to optimize the HDR experience with your XENEON monitor.
Here are two images that shows the brightness level enhancements before (right half) and after (left half) the update has been applied.
The firmware update tool comes in a compressed .ZIP file that can be found in the Downloads section of the monitor’s product page. After you have downloaded the file, you need to extract it first by performing a right-click on the downloaded file and then a left-click on Extract All. A new folder is created that contains the update tool, the firmware files, and a Read Me PDF file that provides all the information on how to perform the update.
Caution: For best results, please disconnect USB devices not necessary for the update from your system. For a seamless update process have only your keyboard, mouse and monitor connected. Preferably use the cables supplied with your monitor.
If you have multiple CORSAIR monitors, 45WQHD240 or 27QHD240, please connect only one monitor and execute updates for each monitor individually. For best results, make sure you use the cables that are supplied with your monitor.
To apply the update, your system needs to establish a data connection to the monitor by either using the USB-C DP-ALT port or the USB-C port that serves as a connection to the USB-Hub as well as to transfer data for the firmware update.
If you connect to your monitor using the Type-C display input only, follow these steps to connect the monitor to your PC or Laptop:
If you connect to your monitor using HDMI or DisplayPort connections, follow these steps to connect the monitor to your PC or Laptop:
Use the Windows File Explorer to navigate to the unpacked .zip archive that you have downloaded and extracted earlier. Double-click on the RTFirmwareInstaller.exe file to open it. It's important to make sure that you have the correct firmware for your specific device model before attempting to update the firmware.
