The HS35 v2 and HS35 SURROUND v2 are CORSAIR’s latest budget-oriented gaming headsets. A full breakdown of all the features can be found over at our main article. For now, though, what’s the difference? Why are there two headsets? Luckily for you and for us, the answer is simple.
There are only two differences: The sound and the price.
The headsets themselves are identical. Same drivers, same design, same mic. However, the HS35 SURROUND v2 comes with a 3.5mm to USB Type-A dongle. This is actually a tiny soundcard that allows you to enjoy full surround sound, either with Windows Spatial Audio or with DOLBY. You can also access additional features like EQ adjustment, sidetones, and voice prompts.
The regular HS35 v2 does not come with this dongle and it’s $10 cheaper. So, if you’re unconcerned about surround sound, don’t play on PC, or just want to save a few bucks, it’s a good option to choose. For those outside of the states, a pricing guide can be found below. These are the launch prices, however, so they might change over time.
