The CORSAIR Platform:6 is our first ever desk, and it’s packed with cool features. Whether it’s the base model, Elevate, or Creator edition, it creates a far neater, ergonomic, and productive home office environment. The core gamer demographic of our user’s will also notice how much of a great addition it would make to a PC gaming setup.
Given that the Platform:6 has been designed to create a more useable desk area, we include a dual monitor arm with all three configurations of the desk. Being able to get rid of bulky monitor stands frees up a lot of space and just so happens to look cooler too.
However, these days just two monitors is pedestrian at best, with the most hardcore of gamers and most productive of home office workers having three or more screens at their disposal. Now, the Platform:6 is a pretty large desk, measuring 180cm/72" wide and 76cm/30” and even wider if you buy the optional desk extension kit. This means that there is plenty of space for more than two monitors on the Platform:6.
Of course, we recommend that you buy CORSAIR monitor arms to ensure a smooth installation process and user experience. For those who are upgrading to the CORSAIR Platform:6, have more than two monitors, and already have a monitor arm lying around, here’s what you need to know:
The horizontal rail on the Platform:6 is a standard 3060 T-channel rail, meaning that the cross section measures 30mm x 60mm. Additionally, the other rails have the same T channels, so there are practically unlimited ways you can attach more monitors to the desk.
As long as the clamp on your monitor arm can open to at least 3cm/1.18” wide, it will work with the 3060 rail on the CORSAIR Platform:6. However, we cannot confirm how stable 3rd party monitor arms will be.
Additionally, as this rail extends the width of the desk and has a uniform profile, you can slide monitor arms along it and secure them wherever you see fit. So, by varying the position of the monitor arms, and a bit of fiddly work positioning the monitors with the spacing you prefer, you can easily fit three monitors on the desk. Those who buy the desk extension kit might benefit here as the additional desk space would make the monitors extend out past the edges of the desk less.
It’s worth noting that if you’re using the monitor arm that came with Platform:6, then your monitors must weigh less than 8kg/18lbs each and be either 75 x 75mm or 100 x 100mm VESA mount compatible.
So, if you’re interested in the Platform:6, our monitor arms, or anything else PC gaming related, head over to our retail site and have a poke around.
