As a new case release rolls around from CORSAIR, so to does some expectant confusion over the different variations. Luckily, this time around the differences are simpler than usual.
Typically, we like to release a version with a glass front panel, and a version with a perforated airflow-focused panel. Then both of those versions have sub-variants equipped with a few different options for fans. Plus, all these variants are doubled as we almost always offer our cases in black and white colorways.
For the 3500 Series, the whole point is that it’s a fishbowl case, so the case itself doesn’t differ, just the included fans or lack thereof. So, let’s take a look at which version is the best option for you. First a quick Matrix to help you out at a glance, then we’ll expound on the details.

The CORSAIR 3500X Mid-Tower Case does not ship with any included fans at all. Discerning PC builders often prefer to spec out their own fans, so included fans often end up going to waste. Additionally, as the cost of fans no longer needs to be factored in, the 3500X is the most affordable variant of this case. Being forced to buy a case including fans when you’ve already planned out your preferred fans makes no sense, so consider this option if your build plan already includes fans.

Generally, ARGB is a simpler way of controlling PC case fans, so the 3500X ARGB offers tidy control out of this box via a +5V ARGB header.
