Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 System Requirements and Recommended Specs

When we spoke about Marvel Rivals recently, we noted that Superhero games are often met with mixed reception – except for Spider-Man. As luck would have it, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has finally swung on over to PC.

Additionally, due to PlayStation’s push to integrate with PC gaming more closely, Sony’s official blog has provided far more details about the game than a PC port would normally get. We’ll start with the Spider-Man 2 PC system requirements from the Steam Store page, which are curiously sparse in detail.

Can I Run Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

We get the feeling that this is a well-optimized port. The PC trailer lists all manner of PC-specific features such as ultra-widescreen support, upscaling, ray tracing, and ambient occlusion. Interestingly, it also mentions frame generation. So, this game might be THE game to make the most of the new RTX 50-Series GPUs. Even launching on the same day as the RTX 5090 and the RTX 5080. How serendipitous.

Given the fairly low minimum system requirements, even an aging PC should have you swinging around and 540° kicking New Yawkers with glee. Though that glee might be relative as according to PlayStation’s info, if you’re hitting just the minimum specs you can only expect 30fps at 720P with every setting turned all the way down.

If you’re looking for a better experience, your upgrade priorities should be: GPU, CPU, and RAM. Additionally, a high-airflow case such as the FRAME 4000D and an AIO like the TITAN 360 RX will certainly help keep things quiet and cool if you’re really trying to crank this game all the way up.

What Kind of Game is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

The best kind, to be honest. After taking the role of Peter Parker in the first instalment, and Miles Morales in the second, we now get to play both, switching between the two. While the abilities and gadgets differ between Peter and Miles, the core gameplay remains consistent.

So, you’ll be swinging through the New York metropolis, making a pit stop every so often to beat up gangsters, crooked cops, and of course some of the supporting cast of supervillains comic-readers will be familiar with. The combat is primarily the sort of acrobatic martials arts you’d expect from these Spider-Men, but the varied gadgets that enhance the web shooters mean that you can get creative, too.

And with two main protagonists, we also get two main antagonists to properly test the mettle of Peter and Miles. And a tonne of side missions and collectables to rummage around for when you fancy a break from the main story.
