CORSAIR has begun rolling out dual-color connectors for native 12V-2x6 GPU power cables in new power supplies. They are already shipping with the updated RMe series PSUs, and the reason for this new feature is simple; there’s been a lot of press over the past two years about GPU power cables melting, and it seems like some of these issues are a result of the users being unaware that the 12V-2x6 / 12VHPWR cable is not completely plugged into the port on the GPU.

The new two-tone connector is grey, with the rest of the cable being either white or black depending on the PSU series, so it’s easy to tell whether the cable is inserted all the way as the grey portion of the connector will completely disappear into the connector port. This will apply to both ends of the cable for some PSU models, so you can see if the cable is correctly inserted on both the GPU and PSU ends instead of just thinking it's secure. Though users will still get audible confirmation when the cable is inserted as the mounting latch makes a clicking noise when it’s secure, there will now be visual confirmation too in order to make the process easier.
This cable is also from the RMe series, in black.
Going forward, any new power supply from CORSAIR will feature these dual-color connectors on the native 12V-2x6 power cable, so if CORSAIR releases any new PSUs throughout 2025 **cough** you can expect this feature to become a mainstay of the CORSAIR PSU lineup.
