To ensure proper operation, keep the active ports free of any foreign objects/materials.Please use the QX RGB and accessories as defined in this document (first one).

STARTER KIT

This section will provide a brief guide how to install your QX RGB Starter Kit.

1. Setting up the QX RGB fan group


After removing the assembled QX RGB fans from the box, remove the active port covers then insert one end of the [F] iCUE LINK cable into an open [I] active port on your QX RGB fan.

2. Install QX RGB into case


Mount the QX RGB fans onto your case with the supplied [D] mounting screws.

3. Connect iCUE LINK System Hub


Connect the [H] power cable into an available 6-pin PCIe cable, [G] micro USB cable and [F] iCUE LINK cable into the System Hub, then connect the [H] power cable and [G] micro USB cable into your power supply and motherboard, respectively.

4. Mount iCUE LINK System Hub on case


The [B] iCUE LINK System Hub can be magnetically mounted on a steel chassis or adhered to a surface with the supplied mounting tapes.

NOTE:  Please note that the [H] power cable and your PSU’s 6-pin PCIe cable are keyed to fit one orientation only. Failure to properly connect the [H] power cable will cause damage to the iCUE LINK System Hub.

EXPANSION KIT

This section will provide a brief guide how to install your QX RGB Expansion Kit.

1a. Create or add into an existing fan group


Connect the QX RGB Expansion fan into an existing fan group by aligning and inserting the connectors into the open [I] and [J] passive ports.

1b. Or, connect QX RGB to an iCUE LINK System Hub


Insert the [F] iCUE LINK cable (sold separately) into an open [I] active port on your QX RGB fan.

2. Connect fan to iCUE LINK System Hub

Connect the [F] iCUE LINK cable into an available [I] active port on the [B] iCUE LINK System Hub (sold separately).


iCUE SETUP

  1. Install iCUE

2. Quick lighting setup

Select the predefined Murals effects from the iCUE home screen to quickly change the lighting effects.

3. Configure iCUE fan setup


The Setup page will display all QX RGB fans connected to the System Hub and allow you to re-order them to better match the physical placement inside your system.

4. Configure iCUE fan lighting

Choose your desired lighting animation from several pre-defined lighting effects.
Select your desired fan curve presets between Quiet, Balanced, Extreme or create your own curve.

4.1: Select QX RGB from the navigation bar.
4.2: Click “Lighting Effects” to access the lighting effects page and select the desired lighting effect.
4.3: Click the “+” icon under “Lighting Layers” to add additional lighting effects.

5. Configure iCUE - Fan Performance

Select your desired fan curve presets between Quiet, Balanced, Extreme, or create your own curve.

5.1: Select the QX RGB from the navigation bar.
5.2: Click “Cooling” to access the fan performance page.
5.3: Select the desired fan curve preset for each fan.
5.4: Click the “+” icon under “Cooling Presets” to create a custom fan curve.

FAQ

Why can’t I change my lighting effect?

Murals may be preventing you from selecting a lighting effect. Please disable Murals by clicking on the Murals Indicator located on the Home screen or from the QX RGB page.



Why is Time Warp strobing effect not displayed on my QX RGB fan?


Please check if the fan speed is beyond 2000RPM. The Time Warp strobing effect will be disabled if the QX RGB fan speed goes beyond 2000RPM.

Does QX RGB support hot-plugging?


The iCUE LINK System Hub and QX RGB fans do not support hot-plugging. Please turn off or shut down your PC before connecting new QX RGB fans.



How many fans can be chained through one channel?


Up to seven (7) QX RGB fans can be chained and connected simultaneously through one (1) channel on the System Hub.



Why are my QX RGB fans blinking red when I turn my system on?


The System Hub may have detected more than seven (7) QX RGB fans or iCUE LINK devices plugged into a channel. Turn off your system and ensure that only up to seven (7) QX RGB fans or iCUE LINK devices are plugged into a channel.



Can I remove the pre-installed connectors on my QX RGB fan?


Yes, the pre-installed connectors on the QX RGB fans can be removed. Make sure to store them for future use.
