RGB and Fan Controllers are used to control either RGB lighting devices or both lighting and fan speed in your PC build. Since we offer many different devices that can do this, we thought we’d go over all of them today. RGB fan controllers can get complex, so here’s a brief rundown of what we offer, and what each product is capable of.
To take full advantage of the CORSAIR RGB and Fan Controllers, install the latest version of the CORSAIR iCUE software.
The latest addition to the family is the CORSAIR iCUE Link System Hub. This new System Hub is compatible with iCUE Link compatible hardware and is included with the iCUE LINK QX120 RGB 120mm PWM PC Fans Starter Kit, the iCUE LINK System Hub, and iCUE LINK H150i RGB AIO Liquid CPU Cooler.
Each iCUE Link System Hub can connect to 14 iCUE Link devices, seven for each port. It uses a standard PCIe 6-Pin connector for power and needs to be connected to an available USB2.0 header on your motherboard. If you've run out of USB2.0 headers, you can use the CORSAIR Internal 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub for more.
Dimensions: 52mm x 52mm x 18mm
The iCUE Commander Core XT controls RGB lighting and fan speed of up to six fans via iCUE. It can intelligently detect any combination of CORSAIR RGB fans and can also be used to control the speed of PWM powered (4-pin) fans.
Two included temperature sensors can be used to accurately monitor temperatures inside the case. The iCUE Commander Core XT is powered by a SATA power connector directly from your power supply and must be connected to an available USB 2.0 header on your motherboard.
An RGB port is also present to connect an RGB LED Fan Hub to connect Hydro X devices, CORSAIR RGB LED Lighting PRO Expansion Kit, or LS100 lighting strips.
It uses a pass-through USB 2.0 connector, so you can easily connect additional devices to the USB 2.0 header of the motherboard. If you run out of USB 2.0 headers, you can use the CORSAIR Internal 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub for more.
The iCUE Commander Core XT uses magnets to allow it to attach to any magnetic surface in your case. If there’s no magnetic space available, you can attach it anywhere you like using the included double-sided adhesive.
Dimensions: 109mm x 65.5mm x 13.5mm
The Commander Core controls RGB lighting and fan speed for up to six fans via iCUE. It can intelligently detect any combination of CORSAIR RGB fans and can also be used to control the speed of PWM powered (4-pin) fans.
The included temperature sensor can be used to accurately monitor temperatures inside the case. A dedicated extension port is used to connect to the iCUE Elite Capellix’s pump header or the iCUE Elite LCD upgrade kit. The Commander Core is powered by a SATA power connector directly from your power supply and must be connected to an available USB 2.0 header on your motherboard.
If you run out of USB 2.0 headers, you can use the CORSAIR Internal 4-Port USB 2.0 Hub for more.
Much like the Commander Core XT, it attaches magnetically to your case, and we’ve included double-sided adhesive for alternative placement
Dimensions: 106.5mm x 65mm x 14mm
The iCUE Commander Pro controls the fan speed of up to six fans via iCUE. It can also be used to control the speed of PWM powered (4-pin) and voltage regulated (3-Pin) fans.
There are four included temperature sensors that can be used to accurately monitor temperatures inside the case. It’s powered by a SATA power connector directly from your power supply and must be connected to an available USB 2.0 header on your motherboard. The device itself has two additional USB 2.0 headers to connect even more devices, allowing you to further expand your system.
Two RGB ports are also present to connect one or more RGB LED Fan Hubs or to connect Hydro X devices, CORSAIR RGB LED Lighting PRO Expansion Kit, or LS100 lighting strips.
The iCUE Commander Pro is mounted by included double-sided adhesive tapes.
Dimensions: 132mm x 67.5mm x 15mm
The iCUE LIGHTING NODE CORE is used to connect up to six fans of the same type to your system. It has a controller already included in the device, so you don’t need any other equipment to get going.
It is used to control the RGB Lighting of the fans, which must be connected in series (1-to-6) to be detected and controlled in the CORSAIR iCUE Software. The iCUE LIGHTING NODE CORE Hub is powered by a SATA power connector directly from your power supply and must be connected to an available USB 2.0 header on your motherboard.
The iCUE LIGHTING NODE CORE is mounted with double-sided adhesive tape.
Dimensions: 72mm x 45mm x 12mm
The RGB FAN LED HUB is used to connect up to six fans of the same type to an existing iCUE Lighting Node Pro controller, iCUE Commander Pro, or iCUE Commander Core XT. The RGB FAN LED HUB cannot be used by itself and always requires a controller.
It's used to control the RGB Lighting of the fans, which must be connected in series (1-to-6) to be detected and controlled in the CORSAIR iCUE Software. The RGB Fan LED Hub is powered by a SATA power connector directly from your power supply.
The RGB FAN LED HUB is mounted by included double-sided adhesive tape.
Dimensions: 72mm x 35mm x 12mm
The iCUE LIGHTING NODE PRO has two RGB ports to connect one or more RGB LED Fan Hubs or to connect Hydro X devices, CORSAIR RGB LED Lighting PRO Expansion Kit, or LS100 lighting strips.
It comes with four RGB Lighting Strips with 10 RGB LEDs per strip that magnetically attach to the steel panels in your case or can be easily mounted using the pre-attached adhesive tape.
It’s powered by a SATA power connector directly from your power supply and must be connected to an available USB 2.0 header on your motherboard.
The iCUE LIGHTING NODE PRO is mounted by included double-sided adhesive tape.
Dimensions: 55mm x 31mm x 12mm
CORSAIR HD RGB and SP RGB fans include a button controller for direct control of RGB lighting without additional software. These button controllers must be connected to an RGB FAN Hub and are specific to the fan type. If HD RGB or SP RGB fans are controlled by this button controller, they cannot be controlled by the CORSAIR iCUE Software. These controllers are also not interchangeable and are specific to the fan they are used with.
