How to Create a Custom Fan Curve in iCUE

CORSAIR iCUE lets you take full control of your system cooling, allowing you to provide the exact cooling performance your system needs thanks to features like system monitoring and custom cooling presets that can be made with custom curves.

Fan curves for cooling devices controllable through iCUE can be found by going to the “Cooling” section for an iCUE-enabled cooler or controller.

Depending on the device, presets such as “Quiet” and “Balanced” may be available. To apply a preset to a device, use the drop-down and select the desired preset to apply.

Custom curves are made by adding a new cooling preset. Click the ‘+’ button and give the new preset a name. Custom cooling presets can use a fixed percentage, RPM, or a curve.

When setting a curve, you’ll need to pick a temperature input such as your CPU cooler’s coolant temperature. This will determine what the curve will be based on, so keep in mind which fans you’ll want to respond to this curve.

If you need help determining what your curve should look like, you can use one of the templates we provide and adjust each point from there.

Once you’ve finished creating a custom preset with your new fan curve, use the drop-downs to apply the curve to each of the devices you wish to have this curve applied to.

Depending on your case layout and fan configuration, you may wish to create multiple cooling presets and apply them to your devices, such as in this example of a case fan controller with multiple fans connected in different locations of the case.
