The recently released iCUE LINK LX RGB fans are another variety of PC fans that are part of the iCUE LINK ecosystem, alongside the RX and RS fan varietals. But how do they differ from the other ones? Let’s take a look at what the CORSAIR iCUE LINK LX RGB fans have to offer. But before we get to that, the specs:

The housing and the lighting are the big things stand outs for this family of fans. The LX Series has far more comprehensive lighting than the other fans that we’re bringing out. If you’re familiar with the iCUE LINK QX fans, you’ll notice the similarities.
The LX fans have 18 individually addressable RGB LEDs distributed around the inner circumference and the outer edge. This makes the lighting far more even and it diffuses across the fan blades more smoothly. So, the LX RGB fans not only look great from the front, but from any tight angle, too.
Basically, if you need your fan to look good from either side, the iCUE LINK LX fans are a great choice.
Those familiar with iCUE LINK might want to skip this next bit, but for those who haven’t experienced the benefits of the iCUE LINK ecosystem, it's worth sticking around for a quick refresher.
Any CORSAIR product with “iCUE LINK” in the name can be connected to any other iCUE LINK product using just one cable. Fans, waterblocks, AIOs, and anything else that’s compatible can be connected together in any order. This series of components will then terminate at the iCUE LINK System Hub, which can be hidden wherever you choose in the system.
Anything connected here is powered and controlled via that cable we mentioned. You can then control, customize, monitor, and adjust anything iCUE LINK all from our iCUE software. You can read our more detailed breakdown of iCUE LINK if you’re curious. Now, back to the LX fans.
Of course, dual light loops and the simplified cable management characteristic of iCUE LINK count for nothing if the fans can’t shift air with the best of 'em. Luckily, this isn’t the case with the LX RGBs.
One of the most vital parts of a fan is the bearing, so we’ve put a magnetic dome bearing in all of our recent fans. The result is the removal of almost all friction, which means the fans can spin faster, more quietly, and last a lot longer too.
These fans also utilize our AirGuide technology, which more directly “points” the air exiting the fan instead of spreading it out. More concentrated airflow is better for any fan, but especially if you need the fan to be able to blast through the fins of a radiator, or even just a very tight build in a small case.
Each LX RGB fan also contains an MCU, or Micro Controller Unit. This allows for a very fancy lighting mode we call Time Warp. This strobes the LEDs in time with the fan’s rotational speed. When the lighting and the fan speed is synced up, it creates an optical illusion that makes it look like the fans aren’t spinning at all, which is a neat party trick. Additionally, if these speeds are slightly and very specifically unsynchronised, the fans can appear to rotate really slowly, or even backwards.
