How to: Reset your computer mouse

If you are experiencing issues with your computer mouse, you can try resetting the mouse to resolve the issue.

Reset your wired computer mouse

Most Corsair mice have a reset function you can use to fix unexpected behavior issues, such as repeating button inputs, lighting issues, or being unresponsive.

Please note that the Scimitar Pro RGB and Dark Core RGB/SE mice have different steps for resetting.

To reset a computer mouse:

  1. Unplug the mouse.
  2. With the mouse unplugged, hold down the left and right mouse buttons.
  3. While holding down the mouse buttons, plug the mouse back into the computer.
  4. After around 5 seconds, release the buttons. You will see an LED flash if it resets successfully.

To reset a Scimitar Pro RGB:

  1. Unplug the mouse.
  2. With the mouse unplugged, hold down the left and right mouse buttons.
  3. While holding down the mouse buttons, plug the mouse back into the computer.
  4. Wait for the mouse’s LEDs to begin flashing, then release the buttons.
  5. Unplug the mouse.
  6. Plug the mouse back into the computer.

To reset a Dark Core RGB/SE:

  1. Set the power switch on the bottom of the mouse to OFF.
  2. Hold down the Forward and Back side buttons.
  3. Holding down the side buttons, set the power switch to ON.

Reset your wireless computer mouse

If you have a wireless computer mouse, the steps for resetting will vary slightly from resetting a wired computer mouse.

To reset a wireless mouse:

  1. Turn off your wireless mouse.
  2. Hold down the left and right mouse buttons.
  3. While holding down the mouse buttons, turn the mouse back on.
  4. After around 5 seconds, release the buttons. You will see an LED flash if it resets successfully.
