What should I do if I get a "Warning: DRAM Issue" in iCUE?

If you encounter this issue in iCUE, it means that iCUE has detected an issue with your DDR4 memory—more specifically an issue with SPD corruption.

You have a few options when getting this error message. You can send in your memory for RMA via our support system—CORSAIR will of course honor the warranty, and will replace your kit.

You might find that your system is running perfectly fine, and that you do not want to bother with sending in the kit for RMA as you are not seeing any issues. SPD corruption issues might not affect the stability of your current system and settings, but might appear at a later point if you change motherboard, BIOS, overclock settings etc. Should you choose not to send in your memory for RMA, and get a problem at a later point in your warranty period, we will of course still replace your kit.

iCUE will automatically try to fix the corrupted data, but in order to do so it requires SPD write access is enabled in the BIOS.

To enable SPD write, you will need to go into your BIOS, and find the correct setting in there. Below we will show how to do this on an ASUS Z690 motherboard. Please note that BIOS will look different depending on what motherboard you have, and what chipset, but this should give you the general idea.

If you cannot manually find the SPD write option in your bios, you can try and use the search function, and search for "SPD" in bios (provided your BIOS has such a function, but most modern motherboards do).

To enable SPD Write:

• Start your PC and boot into your BIOS by pressing the assigned key on your keyboard. This is commonly the DELETE key, but check your motherboard manual. It is customary to smash this key as fast as you can while the system is powering up, but a single well timed press will also do the trick.
• In the BIOS, press the F7 hotkey on your keyboard to enter Advanced Mode.
• Click the AI Tweaker or the Extreme Tweaker tab, depending on which one your BIOS uses.
• Scroll down and click Tweaker's Paradise.

• Scroll down until you find the SPD Write Disable option.
• Set SPD Write Disable as FALSE.

• Save your changes (typically done in the "EXIT" tab, or just by pressing F10.)
• Reboot your system.

After your system has been rebooted, start iCUE again (please make sure you have updated to the latest version—at the time of writing the latest iCUE version is 5.6.97)

iCUE will now try to fix the issue in the background. If you no longer get the "Warning: DRAM issue" then iCUE has successfully corrected your DRAM and you do not need to do anything else. You can now change the SPD write back to its original setting in BIOS, or leave it as is.

If you still see the error, please attempt another restart, make sure the SPD setting is correct in BIOS and load up iCUE again. If still seeing the error in iCUE that means that iCUE was unable to correct the SPD corruption on the DRAM and you should reach out to our technical support for a replacement here: CORSAIR SUPPORT
