What panel does the XENEON 34-inch monitor use?

The panel we use is a QD-OLED (Quantum Dot OLED) that is custom tuned to CORSAIR specifications. This ensures that you will get the best experience for every use case. This means that the panel is carefully tuned and calibrated and the selection of presets is aimed at the best color reproduction and performance for everything you see on your monitor, whether it be productivity tasks or playing your favorite games.

The technology behind the panel is QD-OLED which allows for the deepest blacks and the best color rendition. If you are interested in learning what the difference between QD-OLED and OLED is, we have written up a QD-OLED vs. OLED article for you to read.

What about HDR (High Dynamic Range)? Equipped with a DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, this monitor is ready to display HDR in all its glory with up to 1000nit peak brightness at 3% APL (Average Picture Level) and a contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1.

Color accuracy is important when it comes to productivity tasks and the CORSAIR XENEON 34WQHD240-C covers the DCI-P3 color gamut at 99%.

ergonomics

Positioning a monitor in the perfect position is important and with the included stand this can be accomplished easily. You can quickly and fluidly adjust the panel up to your preferred height (100mm) and orientation with full ergonomics of tilt (-7° to +15°) and swivel (+/- 30°).

What is the aspect ratio and resolution of the monitor?

XENEON_34WQHD240-C_GAMING_MONITOR_PHOTO_17

The panel has an ultra-wide 21:9 aspect ratio and measures 34-inches. The native resolution is 3440 x 1440 pixels when used with PC / Mac and can be scaled up to 4K 3840 x 2160 when used with consoles that support that resolution. The pixel density of the monitor is 110PPI (pixels per inch) for the best clarity and detail.

Is the monitor glossy or matte?

The screen's coating is glossy, which enhances the color of the content you view. However, it is coated to reduce glare when you have bright light sources in the background.

What refresh rate does the monitor offer and is it NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD Freesync compatible?

The panel has a refresh rate of up to 240Hz and is NVIDIA G-Sync compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium certified, allowing adaptive refresh rate adjustments to eliminate tearing. Coupled with a 0.03ms GtG response time, you can enjoy your games at whatever refresh rate your system can support.

What input and output options does the XENEON 34WQHD240-C have?

XENEON_34WQHD240-C_GAMING_MONITOR_PHOTO_07

Like our other monitors, we believe a monitor should have all the essential input and output options. A monitor is always the central device on your desk, so it is in a great position to serve as a hub for your peripherals or other devices. You can plug in devices to transfer data or charge their batteries.

There are two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4, and one USB Type-C DP port to connect four devices simultaneously. For example, you can connect your PC, game console, and even your compatible work laptop (charging up to 65W) to the monitor at the same time. Switching between devices is easy and convenient with the dedicated Input Switch button on the monitor's control panel.

If that is not enough, the monitor has a built-in USB hub that can be connected directly to your PC with the included cable. Four USB Type-A 3.1 ports are available to connect your peripherals or other USB-compatible devices to the monitor. The USB hub is shared between the device connected via the USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable and the USB Type-C DP-A port. This means that when you switch between the device to which the hub is connected and the USB-C DP-alt device. All devices connected to the hub will switch to either active input. This is convenient when you want to quickly connect your laptop to the monitor and take advantage of the peripherals connected to the USB hub.

What happens if I use a console or device that does not support 21:9 aspect ratios?

Consoles are designed to connect to TVs, and TVs almost always use a 16:9 aspect ratio. An ultra-wide monitor has a 21:9 aspect ratio and therefore has more space on the sides. If you connect a console to the monitor, you get the scaled 4K resolution and variable high refresh rate of up to 120Hz that a console offers, but the screen will have black bars on the left and right. The experience is still great because the QD OLED does not illuminate the pixels in that area and blacks remain black.

Does the XENEON 34WQHD240-C have a fan?

No, there is no fan required to keep the unit within its operating temperature range. There are monitors that use fans to keep them cool while enabling high refresh rates, but this is not one of them.

What comes in the box?

You will find everything you need to get started. A HDMI 2.1 cable, a DisplayPort 1.4 cable, a USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable to connect the USB hub, and a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable to connect a laptop to the USB-C DP-A port on the monitor. The cables are between 1.5m and 1.8m long.

If you need longer cables, make sure they meet the specifications needed to drive high resolutions and refresh rates. There are many cost-effective options available from third parties.

The monitor comes with a white stand with a silver base that allows 100mm height adjustment, -7° to +15° tilt and +/- 30° swivel. If you do not want to use the included stand, you can also use a separate 100 x 100mm VESA mount. If you choose to use a VESA mount, be aware that the monitor weighs ~7.2kg without the stand.

Proximity sensor OSD

The monitor's functions are controlled by three conveniently placed buttons. Since they are located on the bottom of the monitor, you might think that the 4-way joystick, change input, and on/off buttons are a little hard to find. That is why we added a proximity sensor on the bottom that turns on helpful guides on the monitor itself that show you where the buttons are.

A great feature of the monitor is the Picture by Picture (PbP) and Picture in Picture (PiP) modes. You can view different input sources at the same time, which can come in handy when you need to see what is happening on two devices at the same time.

Do you have to worry about burn-in and what is the warranty on the monitor?

pixelrefresh_warranty

As with our other OLED monitors, we have included features to prevent burn-in. The monitor performs an image retention refresh after eight hours of use when turned off. This refresh cycle takes about six minutes and ensures that all pixels are kept in good shape. Another feature is called Orbit, which shifts the entire image by a single pixel every three minutes the monitor is in use. Both features ensure that the risk of burn-in is effectively reduced to a minimum.

For peace of mind, the monitor comes with a three-year zero burn-in and zero dead pixel warranty from CORSAIR.
