Owning a high-end computer system like the CORSAIR ONE i500 can make life so much easier for those who rely on fast computing PC systems. It's critical to keep in mind that the performance of your CORSAIR i500 PC depends on how well you maintain it. The CORSAIR ONE i500 is smaller than most compact PC systems, so it's crucial to maintain proper internal airflow to prevent PC components from failing prematurely due to constant operation at high temperatures. Regular cleaning every three months can extend the lifespan of your CORSAIR ONE i500 and keep its hardware in top shape. By maintaining your CORSAIR ONE i500 in good condition, you can unlock your full potential and achieve greater levels of creativity and productivity.

CLEANING YOUR CORSAIR ONE i500

  • Turn off your PC and unplug the power cable. This will ensure your safety.
  • It’s a good idea to move your CORSAIR ONE i500 to somewhere well ventilated, otherwise any dust you remove will settle back on the computer
Slide1
  • Remove both side filters from each side. To clean the filters, run them under running water to remove dust trapped in them.
  • Once the filters are removed, there are two screws from each side panel that can be unscrewed to access the inside of the chassis.
Slide2
  • You can check the right side first. This is the back of the motherboard of the CORSAIR ONE i500. You will not notice much dust accumulation on this side, but if you do see any, you can use a can of compressed air to remove it.
Slide3
  • Once you have cleared the right side, you can then move on to the left side, which is where all the components in the CORSAIR ONE i500 are accessible.
  • Three 120mm fans blow air onto all components. Two fans are mounted on the upper section, and one is on the lower section next to the power supply.
  • To access the motherboard chamber, remove the two screws highlighted in the image below.
Slide4
  • After removing the two screws, pull the metal bracket that holds the two fans - it swings like a door. Now, you have full access to the CPU cooler, DRAM, and graphics card.
  • To access the lower section, which is the PSU chamber, remove the three screws highlighted in the image below.
Slide5
  • Once you've taken out the three screws, the next step is to remove the PSU shroud. This can be a bit tricky because the shroud fits very tightly in place. Take your time with this step and be patient, as there could be some wires that might obstruct the removal of the shroud. It's a good idea to check for any obstructions before proceeding.
  • After removing the shroud, disconnect the fan connector to detach it from the chassis.
  • You now have a clear view of all the components inside your CORSAIR ONE i500, including the PSU, PSU cables, and GPU liquid cooler.
Slide6
  • With everything out of the way, you can now check for any dust buildups inside your CORSAIR ONE i500, including the fans.
  • To clean the dust from your PC, you can use a can of compressed air. Hold the can upright and blow away the dust from the components in short bursts. Begin with the fans and gradually move to other parts. Ensure that you keep the can at a distance to avoid moisture from condensing on the components.
  • Once all the components are dust-free, put everything back together, and your CORSAIR ONE i500 is ready for action once again.

For a compact PC system that packs a lot of punch, like the CORSAIR ONE i500, cleaning regularly yields numerous benefits, enhancing both performance and longevity. Removing dust and debris from internal components such as fans, heat sinks, and vents helps prevent overheating, which can degrade hardware and lead to system instability. By maintaining optimal airflow, clean PCs operate more efficiently, reducing the risk of thermal throttling and extending the lifespan of critical components like the CPU, PSU, and GPU.

CORSAIR offers a wide variety of gaming and workstation PCs. Our official product page has them all.
