How to install the vertical mounting kit in a 2500 series case

The vertical mounting kit is an optional accessory for the 2500 series cases that allows you to show off your GPU in style. It supports up to 4 slot GPUs and provides a few different options depending on the size of said GPU and how close you want it to the side of the case. The kit comes with everything you need including a PCIe 4.0 riser cable that ensures no performance loss, while making your system look absolutely sick. Installing it is simple and only takes a few minutes. Here is a quick and easy guide to installing your vertical GPU mounting kit.

How to install CORSAIR 2500 Series vertical GPU mounting kit

First find the rear part of your 2500 case where your GPU would normally be mounted. You will notice that a large portion around the PCIe cut outs where part of the rear can actually be removed. Undo the two screws holding this part of the case in and remove the entire assembly. Replace this assembly with the new metal plate from your new vertical GPU mounting kit. Our PC DIY Precision Tool Kit is perfect for this process, by the way.

Removed the preinstalled rear plate using the two screws.

Install the new plate provided in the vertical mounting kit.

Next, let’s head to the inside of the case. Some vertical mounting plates like the one for the 6500 series cases have a platform attached to help support the GPU, but since the 2500 is such a small case we're going to mount it directly to the bottom of the case. The 2500 has already been made with several holes at the bottom to accommodate this vertical mounting kit. There are 3 sets of holes for different positions. If your GPU is larger you will need to use a further back set of holes to accommodate.

The bottom of the 2500 has included mounting holes for the vertical GPU stand offs.

Start by screwing in the included stand offs by hand. Next, grab the PCIe 4.0 riser cable. Put the female end on top with the two holes on the side lining up with the stand offs. Next, secure the PCIe riser by screwing through it into the stand offs. Finish off the installation by plugging the male end of the PCIe riser into the PCIe slot of your motherboard. Make sure to plug it into the same PCIe slot you'd use for the GPU normally to ensure best performance.

Screw in the PCIe riser.

Now you can install your GPU into the riser cable just like any other PCIe slot. After installing it your GPU will be vertically mounted, letting everyone know what a beautiful beast your PC is.
