With iCUE, you can customize your CORSAIR Voyager Gaming Laptop to give yourself the best possible experience when gaming or streaming.

Setting up keyboard lighting and hardware lighting

The CORSAIR Voyager comes with a CHERRY MX Ultra Low profile gaming keyswitches that you can assign lighting effects to in iCUE. You can also set up hardware lighting effects that will only play when your laptop is locked or when iCUE is not running.

To set up lighting effects:

  1. Open iCUE.
  2. On the iCUE home screen, hover over the VOYAGER A1600 KEYBOARD tile and click Lighting Effects.
  3. Click the + button in the Lighting Layers section on the bottom left to add a new lighting layer.
  4. In the Lighting Type section, select the type of lighting effect you want to apply.
    • NOTE: If you select a Lighting Link effect, iCUE will apply that effect to any iCUE-compatible device currently connected to your system.

  5. Customize the lighting effect to whatever you desire; different lighting effects may give you different customization options.
  6. Once you have finished customizing, assign the lighting effect to areas on your keyboard by:
    • Selecting individual keys on the keyboard preview
    • Clicking and dragging to assign the effect to multiple keys at once
    • Using the Quick Lighting Zone section on the bottom of the screen.

To set up hardware lighting:

  1. Select Hardware Lighting on the left menu.
  2. Select a lighting type you want to use in the Lighting Type section.
  3. Customize the lighting effect to whatever you desire.
    • NOTE: Customization options for hardware lighting may be more limited than lighting effects that require iCUE to be running.

Assigning macros and remaps to keys

You can create macros and assign them to specific keys by using iCUE.

To assign a macro or remap:

  1. Select Key Assignments on the left menu.
  2. Click the + button in the Assignments section.
  3. Select the type of assignment you want to apply in the Assignment Type section.
  4. Configure the action you want the assignment to perform.
    • If you want to assign a macro, you can record a macro by clicking the red record button in the Macro section, entering what actions you want the macro to perform, and then clicking the record button again to stop recording.

  5. Click a key on the keyboard preview to assign your key assignment to that key.

 

 

Adjusting Win Lock behavior

You can choose what behaviors are enabled or disabled when Win Lock is currently on. To do this, click Performance on the left menu and go down to the Performance section on the bottom left. Here, you can choose which behaviors are enabled or disabled when Win Lock is on, including:

  • Disabling AltTab
  • Disabling AltF4
  • Disabling ShiftTab
  • Disabling WinKey

 

You can also customize the color of the indicator lights by going to the Indicator Colors section, clicking the color circle to the right of Lock, and selecting the color you want.

Customizing the macro bar

The CORSAIR Voyager comes with a macro bar with S-keys that you can assign various actions to. In iCUE, you can create and assign key assignments, customize the color lighting for each individual S-key, and customize the center LCD screen on the macro bar.

NOTE: The only lighting effect that can be assigned to the macro bar S-keys is static color.

 

To customize the S-key lighting effects:

  1. Select the STREAM DECK BAR icon on the iCUE navigation bar.
  2. Click Lighting Effects on the left menu if you are not already in that section.
  3. Click the + button in the Lighting Layers section.
  4. Select Static Color in the Lighting Type section.
  5. In the Static Color section, select the color you want to assign the S-key.
  6. In the Quick Lighting Zone section, select the S-key you want to assign the lighting effect to.
  7. Repeat steps 2 to 5 if you want to make every individual S-key a different color.

 

To assign key assignments to the macro bar:

  1. Select the STREAM DECK BAR icon on the iCUE navigation bar.

  2. Click Key Assignments.
  3. Click the + button in the Assignments section.
  4. Select the type of assignment you want to apply in the Assignment Type section.
  5. Configure the action you want the assignment to perform.
    • If you want to assign a macro, you can record a macro by clicking the red record button in the Macro section, entering what actions you want the macro to perform, and then clicking the record button again to stop recording.
  6. In the S-key preview, click the S-key that you want to assign the key assignment to.

To customize the center LCD screen on the macro bar:

  1. Select the STREAM DECK BAR icon on the iCUE navigation bar.

  2. Click Screen Setup.
  3. Click the + button in the Screens section to add a new screen, or select an existing screen to edit it.
  4. In the Screen Settings section, select if you want to assign a widget or custom background to the screen.
    • To add a widget, click the + button next to Widget and select the widget you want, such as a clock, a battery life indicator, or system load indicator.
    • To add a custom background or animation, enable Background and then click the + button next to it. You will then be able to select a custom background or animation.

Switching system performance modes

If you want your Voyager gaming laptop to use more power or to conserve power to reduce noise, you can change the system performance mode in iCUE.

To change performance modes:

  1. Select the VOYAGER A1600 COOLER icon on the iCUE navigation bar.

  2. Select the performance mode you want to use:
    • Quiet will cause fans to spin at their lowest speed to reduce noise.
    • Balanced will cause fans to spin at a medium speed in order to balance power saving and performance.
    • Extreme will cause fans to spin at their highest speed so the laptop can have the highest possible performance.
