HOW TO

CORSAIR ONE: LED Error Conditions – Auto Detection of Pump Failure or Overheating

The cooling system of the Corsair One and Corsair One Pro provides liquid cooling to the CPU and GPU, monitors the temperature sensors, sets the fan speed, and controls the RGB LED lighting effects.  The GPU side uses a basic pump with a remote thermal sensor that attaches via a wire to the smart pump on the CPU side.

The cooling system firmware will use iCUE for normal operating modes and indicate failures whenever it is not in a working condition, which is detected by Watchdog timer mechanism. Between the GPU thermistor and the GPU pump tach signal, it will auto-detect the system behavior in the case of failure.

Failure Detections

Pump Failure

(左向きライトパイプが赤色に点滅)

System fan will run at 100%, left facing light pipe will blink red (#FF0000), right facing light pipe will be off. This condition is defined by a DMI check in software confirming the system is a Corsair One, with a pump reading 0 rpm or no pump connection registering.

Overheating

(Right facing light pipe blink red, left facing light pipe is off)

System fan will run at 100%, right facing light pipe will blink red (#FF0000), left facing light pipe will be off. Overheating is defined as a coolant temperature of 65C or greater on either the CPU or GPU loop. Failure to read GPU thermistor will also trigger this animation and fan speed.
