Owners of our CORSAIR HS80 MAX wireless gaming headset might have experienced the headset intermittently disconnecting from its wireless dongle.
This can be frustrating for all the obvious reasons, so if this is an issue that has affected you, we apologise. That being said, we’ve now identified what’s causing it, and released a fix to solve it.
Firstly, there’s no need to worry, the headset is not broken and the hardware isn’t faulty, it’s actually a firmware issue with the USB dongle, not the HS80 MAX itself.
All you need to do is update the firmware on the dongle. Those who already know how to do that can stop reading, hit the update button, and enjoy a more reliable gaming experience, but for those who don’t know, here’s how to install the firmware update.
In order to apply firmware updates to any CORSAIR product, including the HS80 MAX for this fix, you’ll need to install iCUE if you haven't already. You can find it on our downloads page. After that’s done, follow the steps below to update the firmware on the HS80 MAX dongle and put an end to the sporadic disconnection issues.
After this, the update is complete and you’re ready to go. To make sure, click the “Check for Updates” button again. There will be a little “Latest Version” label underneath the firmware to confirm that the firmware has been updated and the HS80 MAX disconnection issue has been solved.
