PC gamers love to customize their machines, and CORSAIR has been helping users do this for years now. One of the more popular innovations in this regard has been the addition of LCD screens to the pump caps of AIOs. A screen front and centre with which you can do many things is nice. However, it is a bit small, and it depends entirely on having a compatible AIO and the use of iCUE.
So, we’ve taken the next logical step: A bigger screen, versatile mounting systems, and true freedom in terms of use cases. Introducing the CORSAIR XENEON EDGE Touchscreen. Let’s talk about it.
One of the main focuses for the development of the XENEON EDGE was to make it versatile. So, we’ve designed it to be mounted with three different methods.
The first is any 360mm radiator spot in your case. Anywhere that you can mount a row of three 120mm fans, you can put the XENEON EDGE. It’s thinner than a regular case fan, too, so clearance should be of minimal concern.
This is a particularly good use of the triple fan mount found adjacent to the motherboard tray, which is an increasingly common feature of PC cases these days. This area points straight out at the side panel, so if you’ve got a transparent side panel (also common these days), you’ll have an unimpeded view of the screen.
The 6500, 7000, 3500, and 5000 Series of cases from CORSAIR would be particularly great candidates for this, but any case that can fit a 360mm radiator will be compatible.
Secondly, we have the magnetic universal mounting system. There are 14 magnets inside the XENEON EDGE positioned as such to provide maximum adhesion. In short, you can slap this thing on any ferromagnetic surface, and it will stay there. The magnets are underneath the plastic casing so the metal surface you stick it to won’t get scratched.
So, if you’ve got a regular steel side panel, desk, fridge, or any other magnetic surface nearby, the XENEON EDGE can go here without issue. Just make sure that the cables are long enough.
Of course, some people either have no 360mm mount, or would prefer to keep it occupied by fans or a radiator. If this sounds like you, then you can opt to use the included desk stand instead. This allows you to put the XENEON EDGE on any flat surface and have it tilted up towards you at an ergonomic angle. Those who have already invested in a Stream Deck will know how handy it is to have additional information and functionality within arm’s reach. Speaking of which:
We understand that talk of mounting the XENEON EDGE to the inside of the case makes it seem like it might just be more conventionally-shaped AIO screen, but this is not the case.
The XENEON EDGE can simply be used as another monitor. Windows will detect it as another screen so you can use it as such. Put applications there, change the background, anything you’d normally do on a monitor can be done here. Additionally, it’s a five-point multi-touchscreen, so you can interact with what’s on the screen like you would any other touchscreen interface, as well as using the mouse.
This is the case wherever you choose to mount the XENEON EDGE. With this in mind you’ll be starting to understand the utility available here. A great use of it could a little dedicated Spotify station for example, so you can scroll through albums and queue up songs without opening the app over top of the task at hand.
Perhaps nuisance Teams meetings could be relegated here, so you can continue to use your main screens for actual work while retaining some awareness of the PowerPoint presentation you’re being subjected to. A win for the white-collar work from home people out there.
On the flipside, gamers can put Discord here, and enjoy at a glance reading of messages, viewing of memes, and other functionality that doesn’t necessitate taking up a regular-sized screen. Similarly, scrollable things like Reddit are a good use case, too.
Of course, those who like to constantly monitor the status of their PC will find the XENEON EDGE invaluable, too. If you choose to use it with iCUE, you can have an informative and comprehensive readout of fan speed, temperatures, CPU and GPU utilization, and anything else you’d want to keep an eye on.
This also allows you to use the touchscreen to switch profiles, mess with lighting, and adjust fans speeds all without having to open iCUE on top of whatever you’re actually doing at the time.
If you like to periodically benchmark your PC for testing and/or showing off purposes, the XENEON EDGE is a great way to see what your hardware is getting up to, so you can compare it to Furmark or Cinebench on your main monitor.
The CORSAIR XENEON EDGE will be available very soon, so keep an eye out on our webstore so you can snag this super useful little screen post haste.
