CORSAIR monitors are validated as NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium certified. This means you can expect smooth gameplay when paired with an NVIDIA or AMD graphics card in your system.
Both certifications require a monitor to meet certain criteria.
For AMD FreeSync Premium these are:
- At least 120hz refresh rate at minimum FHD resolution
- Support for low framerate compensation (LFC)
- Low latency
For NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible the requirements are:
- Validated for no artifacts
What does it mean when you buy a CORSAIR monitor? Whether your gaming rig uses an NVIDIA or AMD card, you can be sure that your CORSAIR monitor meets the requirements to enjoy Adaptive-Sync.
Adaptive-Sync was introduced by NVIDIA as G-SYNC to sync visuals with your graphics card’s frame rate. AMD also added FreeSync to provide Adaptive-Sync for their cards. A monitor must meet the requirements to support either technology for the smoothest experience, especially at higher frame rates of 120fps and above. Many monitors today give you a choice of technology for the best experience, but not all of them are certified.
Our XENEON 32QHD240 IPS, 32UHD144 IPS, 32UHD144-A IPS, 27QHD240 OLED, and of course, our Xeneon Flex monitors all are certified NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible as well as AMD FreeSync Premium. With CORSAIR monitors you have the capability to make full use of adaptive-sync features within your desktop environment and more importantly in games. This means that with the XENEON 32UHD144 and 32UHD144-A, with a powerful GPU, you can expect up to 144Hz refresh rate with the smoothest game play at a UHD resolution. All other monitors offer up to a 240Hz refresh rate at QHD or WQHD resolutions for an even smoother experience.
While it's crucial to have a powerful graphics card for high frame rates and detailed settings in your favorite game, you can adjust the game settings for a smoother experience and achieve a refresh rate that your monitor can support. We recommend using your monitor's native resolution to get the best results. For WQHD, the resolution would be 3440 x 1440 pixels, while for QHD it's 2560 x 1440 pixels. UHD, on the other hand, boasts a whopping 3840 x 2160 pixels. The next step would be to check the graphics details offered by the game and adjust them to achieve the highest possible frame rates at the monitor's native resolution. Since every game is different, you'll need to experiment with the available presets or in-depth settings for some time. For many games, you can find guides on adjusting the settings to get the best performance from your computer's setup.
Depending on the game and the platform you are using to play the game, there are different ways to monitor the frame rate. CORSAIR monitors have a refresh overlay that indicates the live refresh rate the monitor is running at. Additionally, Steam provides a convenient feature to show the frame rate as an overlay while playing the game. Simply navigate to Settings and click on In-Game, where you can activate the FPS counter.
