The Intel Core i9-14900K is the latest high-end CPU to be released, and as such it’s the chip that most enthusiasts want inside their machines. While the improvements over the previous generation are small, that doesn’t detract from the fact that it’s an incredibly powerful processor—one that’s just as happy powering the latest games as it is doing more serious work, and to get the most from it you want to pair it with the best hardware around. That includes the memory you should use.

Picking the right memory for a processor isn’t always easy, as there are plenty of things to consider. Things like latency, speed, and capacity are all factors you’re going to want to choose carefully, not to mention the aesthetics of the memory itself. You may not quite hit the performance you can with DDR5, especially in games, but you can always upgrade to a DDR5 platform later down the line.
