The CORSAIR 6500D and 6500X are considered mid-tower cases, meaning that they’ll fit a standard ATX motherboard and most components without issue. But there’s never any harm in making sure that everything works before spending your hard-earned cash on choice hardware. With graphics cards getting larger every generation you can never be too sure. Let’s take a quick look at the dimensions of the 6500D and 6500X cases and see how they measure up to the current GPUs on the market.
If you have taken a look at the smaller 2500 series cases you might be surprised that they pretty comfortably fit every GPU on the market. The larger 6500 cases add most of the volume vertically in height. The length and the width are only slightly increased and so do not actually add that much more room.
But since the younger brother is compatible with everything, the 6500D and 6500X can fit even the largest GPUs on the market, like the 358mm long Asus ROG Strix. The total dimensions of 479 x 304 x 376 mm leave over 400mm in length and 200mm in width for the GPU without fans. Adding standard 30mm thick fans to a 6500D still give you 370mm in length for your GPU, making it capable of handling anything you can throw at it.
