What to look for in PC RGB lighting strips

RGB ambient lighting should be deeply personal, so be sure you’re looking closely at what they offer.

  • Form factor: Are you looking for fully diffused, flexible tubing, LED string lighting, ambient lighting towers, or something else?
  • Compatibility: Ensure that the lighting components can be powered by your machine and fit well inside it.
  • Software customization: Our iCUE RGB protocol helps you customize, but check to see if there’s other software customization at play.

Can you put LED strips inside your PC, and is it safe?

In general, adding RGB LED lighting to the inside of your PC case is a safe way to customize how it looks—particularly if you’ve got a tempered glass panel exposing all the internal components. However, it’s important that you opt for LED strips that are designed to go inside a PC, and come with controllers and power compatibility that fits those components. CORSAIR PC LED strips have been designed to work in concert with your PC’s thermal management system, and as such won’t draw too much power or generate too much heat. It’s not recommended to add general, in-home LED light strips inside your PC case if they aren’t designed for that use case.
