How To Install CORSAIR PBT DOUBLE-SHOT PRO Keycap Mod Kits

FAQ

What is Double-Shot?

Double-shot refers to the process through which our keycaps are made. Plastic is “shot” or injected in two different molds during construction. This means that the legends of a keycap are not on the same piece of plastic as the outer mold. Double-shot keycaps offer clear fonts and longer-lasting legends because of this dual design.

What is PBT?

Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) is the plastic polymer we use to construct our keycaps. Compared to other plastics, PBT offers improved durability, rigidity, texture, and shine resistance.

What is an MX-stem?

An MX-stem is a type of stem patented by CHERRY in the shape of a cross. Many keyswitches in the market use MX-compatible stems to ensure compatibility across a wide range of products while promoting customization.

What is an MX stabilizer?

Larger keys such as SHIFT and the spacebar utilize a stabilizer to prevent key wobble. The most common and standard form is an MX stabilizer. These stabilizers connect to the keycap using a stem that is shaped the same as MX keyswitches.

I am having trouble applying/removing keycaps.

First, check the Compatibility tab to ensure you have the correct product. If so, check our Video Guides tab where we demonstrate proper application, removal, and cleaning in a short video.

Will these be compatible with non-CORSAIR keyboards?

Yes, if the keyboard has a standard bottom row, MX-stem keyswitches, and MX-stem stabilizers.

Will RGB lighting be able to shine through the legends

Yes, the legends are translucent and will allow backlighting from the keyswitches to pass through.
